Research and planning: Film magazine Second draft

For my second draft of my film magazine I decided to create it on the I macs on Photoshop:
  • I stuck to the same font as other film magazines do
  • Added the main film to cover the whole of the page
  • Added the website and the amount of pages that will be in the magazine
  • Added a bubble with the interviews with cast inside of it
  • Added a plus menu down the left hand side of the page
  • The name of the film is at the top in capital letters
  • With the slogan underneath at the right hand side
  • The name of the film is in the middle of the page which will be in front of the picture
Now I need to add a colour to my background and add the main photo to the magazine

Research and Planning: Film Poster Ideas

I took the American Haunting poster because I thought that it would be a good layout for my magazine as I want:

  • A main photo in the middle of the screen of the girl who is possessed
  • I want the colours to be dark like grey
  • The background to the poster to be the background of one of the scenes
  • I want the name of the film at the bottom with the slogan underneath it
  • I want the actors names at the top of the page
  • The cinema date at the bottom

Research and Planning: Location Availability

For one of our locations in the teaser trailer we want to use Newton Church where there will be about 6 actors needed on the set and in the bedroom scene will be in Megan's house where we will be using Megan's mum as one of the actors in the scene.

Research and Planning: Call Sheet

The call sheet we did was to show when and where we will be filming and which characters and crew will be needed on that day.

Research And Planning: Cast photos

Today me and my group decided to take the photos of our cast which will be in our teaser trailer. We took ten photos for use to decide who to pick out of to be our main characters for our teaser trailer:

Research and Planning: Font Styles

I decided to go onto the website on www.dafont.com today and look at the different style fonts to go on my film magazine poster. I wanted it to be dramatic to show the audience the type of genre it is when they look at the poster.

Research and Planning: Shot List

This is our shot list of what we need to to for the cinematography throughout the film teaser trailer. It included all the different shot types and the description of what will be happening in that part of the scene. This will help us because it is like a plan of our filming.

Research and Planning: Shooting Schedule

This is our shooting schedule for the next two weeks. We plan to stick to this as of not we will run out of time and if we miss one it will mess up are whole schedule, therefore we must stay on task at all times.

Research and Planning: Analysis of Teaser Trailer results

Today I found that the elements of the teaser trailer that I analysed have similar element of the animated storyboard. As they both have jumps and straight cuts in the trailer and they both have music over the top of the trailer and there is a lot of screaming to sow the audience that it is a horror film.

Production Schedule: Animated Story Board

For our animated story board we created it on I-Movie which there we added all of our drawings onto it and edited the name and crew with effects. We added a soundtrack to the teaser trailer which we also edited on garage band. We will need to copy this music ourselves to make is music our own

Research and Planning: Meeting 3

Today me and my group had another meeting. We decided to do some of our filming this week and do our location recces. We also need to so our individual film magazine poster which we did Prezi on to create our ideas. We decided today to start creating our location recces and add the sound onto our animated story boards. We are going to start filming on Friday in our lesson and carry on with it through to the end of dinner.
